A to Z Bookish Survey

Saturday, March 12, 2016

So here's the thing, I realized that I don't have the patience nor the time to review books, It's the middle of the month to do hauls or wrap ups, I'm not committed enough to start Top 5 Wednesday or some-other-day-some-thingy-thing and I've been doing a lot of tags lately and adding another one just makes me repetitive. Usually, I'm a very creative person (I'm not afraid to admit it) but senior year took all of my creativity and replaced it with math and physics' equations. I was this close to giving up until I stumbled upon a video by the lovely booktuber Sophie which is 'A to Z Bookish Survey'. It was originally created by Perpetualpageturner and it's a survey corresponding every letter of the alphabet with book-related questions. Here we go!

    • Author you've read most books from: Neil Gaiman, my inspiration and role model. So far, I've read: Neverwhere, Stardust, Sandman: Preludes and Nocturnes, The Graveyard Book, Fortunately The Milk, The Sleeper and The Spindle & The Ocean at the End of The Lane.
    • Best sequel ever: Prodigy by Marie Lu. Blew.My.Mind.Away.
    • Currently Reading: Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. (So far, so not good. I don't see how it deserves all the hype It's getting but I won't judge until I finish it).
    • Drink of Choice While Reading: I'm quite fond of tea lately.
    • E-reader or Physical Book: It depends, honestly.
    • Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School: That's easy! Etienne St. Clair from Anna and The French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. He's my soulmate, we both love books and we're both passionate about history plus he's short (I'm really short so short boys are a turn-on, don't judge me).
    • Glad You Gave This Book A Chance: Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman because it's the book that introduced me to the legend that is Neil Gaiman. Not to mention that it's one of the best books that I've ever read  in my entire life.
    • Hidden Gem Book: Tales From The Kingdoms trilogy by Sarah Pinborough. More people need to read those three tiny amazing books.
    • Important moment in your reading life: When I discovered and got to know more bookworms from my country. In a way, interacting with them encouraged me to fall in love even harder with books.
    • Just Finished: Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge. One of those books that starts with so much potentiel and ends leaving you slightly disappointed.
    • Kinds of Books You Won’t Read: I'm not picky when it comes to book genres.
    • Longest Book You’ve Read: Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. 896 pages. (absolutely worth it).
    • Major book hangover because of: Champion by Marie Lu (it's been 1 year and i'm still not over it).
    • Number of Bookcases You Own: 2 big ones and 2 small ones.
    • One Book You Have Read Multiple Times: I'm not the kind of person who re-reads books but Les Misérables by Victor Hugo is an exception.
    • Preferred Place To Read: Couch and station benches.
    • Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read: “What are you going to do with your life?" In one way or another it seemed that people had been asking her this forever; teachers, her parents, friends at three in the morning, but the question had never seemed this pressing and still she was no nearer an answer... "Live each day as if it's your last', that was the conventional advice, but really, who had the energy for that? What if it rained or you felt a bit glandy? It just wasn't practical. Better by far to be good and courageous and bold and to make difference. Not change the world exactly, but the bit around you. Cherish your friends, stay true to your principles, live passionately and fully and well. Experience new things. Love and be loved, if you ever get the chance.” One Day - David Nicholls.
    • Reading Regret: I regret not reading a lot in middle school. Especially English books.
    • Series You Started And Need To Finish (all books are out in series): The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. The plot is just amazing even though the characters are not that intriguing.
    • Three of your All-Time Favorite Books: Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, Legend by Marie Lu and The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.
    • Unapologetic Fangirl For: Love triangles?
    • Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others: Once again I'm going to mention Neil Gaiman. He's going to release his first non-fiction book this year "The View From The Cheap Seats" and I cannot wait to read it because I just know it would be the book that will change my life. I'm sure of it.
    • Worst Bookish Habit: I'm a slow reader. slow. slow. slow. reader.
    • X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book: Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy.
    • Your latest book purchase: While My Sister Sleeps by Barbara Delinsky.
    • ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late): Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. This book is so cheesy, I couldn't get enough from it. Cheesy but in a good way.

That's it~ Please do it, It's so much fun! I'll see you very soon, bye~!
(I'm having major Sherlock feels, blame Benedict for it).
