The Totally Should’ve Book Tag

Wednesday, February 17, 2016

Hello, I'm still alive! I thought why not crawl out of the shadows and do what I do best! Which is ranting. But it's about books so I guess that's the good kind of ranting. Since I didn't read much this year and I desperately want to post something, I'll do a book tag because who doesn't love book tags! This one was created by Emma from Emmabooks and I wasn't tagged by anyone but let's face it, that didn't stop me before. Enough jibber jabbing, Here we go~!

1. Totally should've gotten a sequel:

Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. I'm not saying it has a loose ending but the world in this book is so interesting and immense that I really wish Gaiman will write a sequel one day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

2. Totally should've had a spin-off series:

I think the Ruby Red trilogy by Kerstin Gier should have a spin-off series, again because of the great potential that the world and characters hold.

3. An author who totally should write more books:

Daniel Handler (pen name: Lemony Snicket). It's not like he didn't write a lot of  books, he did. But he needs to write MORE and I bet you know why if you read any of his works.

4. A character who totally should've ended with someone else:

I don't recall reading books that include love triangles so whatever my answer is, it's going to be quite vague. Let's say I'm not very happy with a certain someone who ends up with another certain someone in the Harry Potter books by J. K. Rowling. (Not that I have read the series, I only read the first one but the Internet has spoiled me to the fullest. Who knows, maybe if I read the rest of the books, I'll change my mind).

5. Totally should've ended differently:

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. It's like the book is missing a whole chapter! Absolutely unsatisfied with its ending.

6. Totally should've had a movie franchise:

Legend by Marie Lu. If it gets a movie adaptation that's done correctly, It will have a massive success.

7. Totally should've had a TV show:

The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare. I'm not sure why but I think it can be  made into a great TV show without ruining the actual plot. (as much as I love book-to-show adaptations, I have to admit that they change pretty much everything from the beginning or eventually if the show gets picked up for more seasons).

8. Totally should've had one point of view:

I've never faced a problem with multiple point of views books but I got a little confused while reading the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare.

9. Totally should've had a cover change:

Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella. I just don't like it. It's like she's wearing a gigantic watermelon costume.

10. Totally should've stopped at book one:

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I still think that it's better off as a stand alone.

I tag my girl crush Ness. I also tag Sahar, Myriam, Yosra, Amal, Arij... and all the Tunisian book-bloggers and booktubers out there! (Our community is growing so big, it's heartwarming, you guys!).

Now into my precious pit, I shall go back. It was nice seeing the light for a while though...

Also thanks for tagging me and nah-uh Hunger Games wouldn't be a coherent story without the actual consequence of Catnip's rebellious act at the games, oh no!

  2. Okay but how about this: cut everything unnecessary and add it to the first book, it may become huge but i always imagined THG better off as a stand-alone~ Idk but that's just me~
