Top 5 Wednesday #4 || July 27th || Most Unlikable Characters

Wednesday, July 27, 2016

Time flies by so fast! It's already the last week of July which means the last T5W topic for this month! For more informations on Top 5 Wednesday, check the links below:

Goodreads group: Top 5 Wednesday

Let's roast people! This week's topic is Most Unlikable Characters and things will get ugly so let's not waste a minute, here are my five picks:

  • July 27th, 2016 || Most Unlikable Characters:
"NOT VILLAINS! These are protagonists or side characters that are unlikable! (These should lean more towards characters who aren't intentionally unlikable. Not villains, or mean girl/guys, etc.)"

5. Ron Weasley || The Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling:

Just to make things clear, I only read the first four Harry Potter books and the Ron Weasley in those did not impress me. I found him annoying and whiny and not as interesting as the rest. He was an extremely two-dimensional character to the point of not paying attention nor caring for him at all.

4. Clary Fray || The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare:

When I read City of Bones, I didn't understand why people hated on Clary so I defended her on multiple occasions. Then I read City of Ashes and City of Glass and I wished strangling fictional characters was possible. I don't think there's anyone more stubborn and clingier than her. Talk about character derailment.

3. Adam Parrish || The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater:

It feels wrong to add Adam to this list because the amount of hardships he went through in the first book somehow justified his actions. But that didn't stop me from disliking his character. I understand that he wants to rely only on himself and I admire that about him but pushing his friends away and being a total snob and jerk to them when all they wanted to do was helping him is not an act of self-reliance but rather one of sheer stupidity and arrogance.

2. Magnus Damora || Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes:

Magnus, Magnus, Magnus. Precious, angsty, oh-i'm-so-misunderstood Magnus. The prince who plays the victim card when in fact he causes nothing but destruction and pain. At first, I sympathized with him, I comprehended why he acted the way he did, I even tolerated the fact that he's madly in love with his sister. But then things got intense and what was once sympathy turned into dislike. I can never forgive him for forcing himself on his sister, abusing his mistress and all of the killings and abductions he did.

1. Rhysand || A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas:

Dear Rhysand, you disgust me, you abusive buffoon. Have you ever heard of a such thing as consent? Drugging a woman every night and doing whatever you please with her is not okay. Forcing yourself on her and trying to kiss her without her approval is not okay. Tricking her to become your slave one week a month for the rest of her life is not okay!

--------------------------------------------------

That's it for July's topics! I can't wait to know what August has in stores for us! Do you agree with my list? Who are your most unlikable bookish characters?

    1. Feyre was annoying but she gained my respect in the trials! The way she handled the tasks was quite impressive~ That's why I didn't add her to the list.
